Officials said that an 86-year-old Florida man passed away at the hospital after being struck by his son’s truck many times on Saturday night.
When deputies arrived at R Bar in Treasure Island, Florida, just after 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, they discovered a 2019 black Dodge Ram backed into a spot in the parking lot.
Thomas McKeown, 86, is said to have approached the truck and then seemingly fell in front of it, according to the investigators.
Investigators said that the truck began to move, ran over McKeown, dragging him, then repeatedly reversed and proceeded ahead, hitting the 86-year-old before escaping the scene.
After doing additional inquiries, authorities discovered that the truck’s driver was Mark McKeown, the 61-year-old son of Thomas McKeown.
According to officials, Mark McKeown was detained and accused of fleeing the scene of a fatal collision.
Deputies say that after Thomas McKeown was transferred to a nearby hospital, he passed away from his wounds.
