WHATSAPP wants to give people the opportunity to fix their hastily typed texts with a remarkable new feature.
The messaging app is working on incorporating a secret mode that will allow users to edit their messages after they’ve been sent.
According to reports, WhatsApp will release a new update that will give users a 15-minute grace period to modify their messages.
The trick will allow you to correct typos and repair any embarrassing errors or words you may have written.
But don’t get too cocky with your quick responses just yet, because the precise release date of the new editing mode has yet to be confirmed.
However, a number of hints that it will be released soon have been reported.
WhatsApp users had hoped for the feature to be added for a long time, so they were overjoyed to learn it was “under development” last year.
WABetaInfo’s tech sleuths discovered evidence that bosses were working on the edit element in June 2022.
WhatsApp regularly tests new features in the “beta” trial version of the app, allowing researchers to gather the information.
An insider at the messaging company also revealed the plans and shared a screenshot of the new function.
It appears that users will be able to change their message by holding it down, though the recipient will be aware of the change.
The edit is said to be in the early stages of development, so WhatsApp may make some more changes to the widget.
WhatsApp is constantly looking for new ways to compete with Apple’s iMessage.
Like WhatsApp, the built-in iPhone messenger now allows you to unsend texts.
However, the iOS 16 update also included a text-message editor that allows you to make changes to messages up to 15 minutes after they’ve been sent.
This means that iMessage beat WhatsApp to the feature.
You can join the app beta if you want to try out the latest WhatsApp features first.
