Over the past few years, editing photos on your iPhone has become much simpler, and iOS features are getting better all the time. Apple Photos is on our list of the top photo editing apps for a reason, after all.
But if you have a lot of images that need editing, things can become a little time-consuming. Thankfully, your iPhone has a secret feature that allows you to edit multiple photos at once.
Although you can’t crop or apply filters with this feature, this guide will help you if you need to change the file type, your orientation, or remove the background from an image. Here’s how to simultaneously edit multiple iPhone photos.
How to simultaneously edit multiple iPhone Photos
- Select the photos you want to edit in Apple Photos by opening them
- Share and save those pictures to a brand-new Files folder
- Select the photos you wish to edit by opening the files
- Select your editing option by clicking the three dots in the bottom right of the screen
- Edit the images
1. Select the photos you want to edit in Apple Photos by opening them:
Enter the Apple Photos app and choose all the pictures you want to change as your first step. To do this, tap each pertinent image thumbnail after tapping the Select option in the top right corner.
2. Share and save those pictures to a brand-new Files folder:
It is now necessary to move those pictures to the Files app on the iPhone. Once you have chosen your pictures, tap the Share icon in the bottom left corner, then Save to Files.
3. Select the photos you wish to edit by opening the files:
You must first make a new folder before you can complete the save. Choose New Folder by tapping the three dots in the top right corner of the screen. The next step will ask you to give this folder a name; doing so will launch it immediately. To finish the process, click Save in the top right corner.
4. Select your editing option by clicking the three dots in the bottom right of the screen:
You must now select these pictures in the Files app, essentially repeating step 1 again. Navigate to the newly created folder, then select from the top-right three-dot menu. Then choose the pictures you want to change.
5. Edit the Images:
Once your images are chosen, click the three dots in the bottom right of the screen. From there you pick the editing option of your choice — in our case, it was removing the background.
Other options include rotating the image left or right, including them all in a new PDF, or changing the image’s file type to one JPEG, PNG, or HEIF.
