Following the discovery of a woman’s decaying remains in a shallow grave, a MAN has been detained.
Theodore Lamont Myers, 53, was charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with tangible evidence in connection with the death of Kadidra Roberts, a missing person.
Residents in Kenton County, Kentucky, phoned Kenton County Police to investigate after discovering decaying human remains in a small, forested grave on Saturday, according to WXIX.
Since then, they have been identified as Roberts.
According to court records, Roberts’ mother, Tonia Litman, spoke to her daughter via video call on August 17th.
She said detectives she saw her daughter with a man she recognised on the call, but she didn’t know his name.
According to an affidavit, Roberts was seen inside a house with a male on September 1st, and Litman and numerous family members began seeking for her.
The man at the residence, according to Litman, was also there for the video call.
According to the warrant, Litman said that she recognised him as “Lamont.”
Myers can be seen on surveillance tape making many excursions between the house and the woods where the remains were discovered.
Numerous artefacts that belonged to Roberts were discovered during the home’s examination under a search warrant.
On the same day, US Marshals apprehended Myers for a connected warrant.
Myers claimed to have met Roberts at reggae gatherings in downtown Cincinnati, where they had fun together, according to Kenton County Detective Andrew Kenner.
He claimed that after returning home, they fell asleep.
Myers claimed that when they had breakfast and woke up, he fell asleep once more.
He claimed that Roberts was silent when he awoke.
He claimed that after using narcotics, he became terrified and tried to remove the body from the residence before calling the police.
“Myers outlined how he wrapped Roberts in cloth, placed her in the big green trash can, and dumped her in a grave he dug in the woods. The arrest warrant reads, “Myers claimed he put Roberts’s wig and clothing into a rubbish bag and threw them in the trash.
According to authorities, Myers is presently being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center while he awaits extradition to Kentucky on separate crimes.
Authorities suggested he might be charged with more later.
