A MISSING STUDENT has left a Texas university in shock after going missing before graduation, according to his grieving family.
Tanner Hoang, 22, was last seen leaving an apartment complex near campus at 11 a.m. Friday, according to an Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley bulletin.
The family of the Texas mechanical engineering student was in town and were anxious when he did not show up for a meal before the ceremony.
“I was thinking, this isn’t Tanner,” the missing man’s uncle Quan Hoang told FOX 7.
“Tanner is always present at family occasions. He’s never been this way before.”
Police suspect he fled town in a silver automobile heading west.
He is 6 feet tall, weighs around 175 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. Authorities are also on the lookout for a 2009 Lexus ES350 with Texas licence plate BS2 C737.
Tanner’s family was startled to find that he would not walk across the stage for graduation, according to local media.
According to Texas A&M, his name was not included in the commencement ceremony.
Tanner’s family published CCTV footage earlier this week showing his vehicle driving westbound on a roadway near school.
“We can assume that we understand why a person is missing and what they’re thinking.
“But until you find them, and you verify the circumstances, it’s really important that people remain vigilant, that we continue to watch out, that we do everything.”
While the circumstances behind his abduction remain unknown, Tanner’s family has stated that all they want is for him to return home.
“We want him back,” Tanner’s uncle Tuan Hoang told KHOU 11.
“We want him back home with us,” Tanner’s uncle Tuan Hoang told KHOU 11.
“We are just asking everybody to continue to pray, we believe in the power of prayer, and we are asking God to bring Tanner back to us.”
Tanner’s family has been searching for him since he disappeared and Fleeger said the car could be the key to getting him home.
“The biggest, most visible thing is going to be the vehicle. That’s something people can be looking for,” Fleeger said.
A Facebook group has been formed to collect any information that may lead to Tanner’s recovery.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the College Station Police Department.
Tanner’s family only wants him to hear one message for the time being.
