Tesla Inc. surpassed market expectations in the second quarter by setting a new record for vehicle deliveries. Between April and June, the company under Elon Musk’s direction delivered 466,000 vehicles. This was more than the typical analyst estimate of 445,000 deliveries.
Tesla had 254,695 vehicles delivered during the same quarter last year. In China, its second-largest market, Tesla is anticipated to set yet another sales record despite competition from industry leader BYD.
Tesla has advanced in the field of quick charging for electric vehicles as well. Ford Motor Company and General Motors have agreed to adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS), as have producers of fast-charging equipment.
Tesla increased inventory discounts and made all Model 3 vehicles eligible for full federal credit in the US in an effort to increase sales. Additionally, earlier this year, they cut prices across the board to make up for delivery projections for 2022 that fell short of reality.
