THE MORMON After being arrested on assault and domestic violence charges, a TikTok influencer was accused of throwing “heavy metal chairs” at her boyfriend and five-year-old daughter.
Taylor Frankie Paul, 28, was arrested on February 17 after her partner, Dakota Mortensen, called police to report that she had attacked him in front of her two children, according to court documents.
The Salt Lake Tribune obtained records that described Paul and Mortensen’s troubled relationship.
According to authorities, the couple was arguing, and when Mortensen attempted to leave the house, Paul began attacking him.
The TikTok influencer kicked her boyfriend and put him in a chokehold, with Mortensen telling Paul multiple times to “stop hitting him,” court docs say.
a furious Paul reportedly threw her phone and a “wooden play set” at her boyfriend, damaging his vehicle, according to the docs.
According to surveillance video of the incident that the Herriman Police Department has obtained, Paul is seen throwing “heavy metal chairs” at Mortensen that break through a wall.
According to court documents, Mortensen ordered Paul to stop throwing chairs because her daughter was sitting next to him on the sofa.
The video, according to the police, also showed that one of the chairs that was thrown struck her 5-year-old daughter in the head.
Police claim that the child was struck before crying out, and a detective later claimed that the girl had a painful “goose-egg” injury to her head.
As officers noticed “redness and swelling” around his eyes, swelling on his elbows, and scratches on his hands and neck, Mortensen admitted to being “scared for his life” after the altercation.
According to court documents, Paul told police that she had thrown the play set and chairs.
Hours after being detained, the 28-year-old social media influencer was released.
On March 21, she is expected to make her court appearance.
Paul has a large fan base on TikTok, where more than 4 million users tune in for updates on her life and the two young children she shares with her ex-husband Tate Paul, who are two and five years old.
Paul gained notoriety in May of last year after talking about how her marriage ended on TikTok.
She asserted that the pair belonged to a “swinging” circle, where they were permitted to switch partners with their close-knit influencer friend group provided they complied with certain rules.
She and her ex-husband had a circle of friends with whom they would have passionate relationships but wouldn’t go “all the way,” according to Paul.
After admitting that she had “gone too far” with someone’s spouse, Paul announced that the arrangement had ended in divorce.
Paul has been seeing Mortenson, a real estate agent who frequently appears on her TikTok videos, since her marriage broke down.
