On December 16, shortly after turning off his phone at around 8 a.m., Hoang’s family reported him missing. On December 18, the Brazos Valley Amber Alert Network issued a warning on the college student.
He was last spotted in College Station’s 900 block of Colgate Drive at 11 a.m., according to authorities. In Caldwell, Texas, he apparently also filled up on gas around midday.
Hoang’s family said they were on their way to College Station to attend his graduation the weekend he went missing, according to Fox 26 Houston. They were supposed to meet him for lunch, but never did.
Texas A&M University said Hoang was not qualified to graduate, Fox 26 reported.
On December 22, Hoang’s automobile was discovered abandoned in a parking space in West Austin.
Volunteers and search teams were instructed to leave a couple of hours before his death was made public, according to regional media.
So sad to state that Tanner’s family reports that he was found deceased today in Austin not far from where his vehicle was recovered. Certainly not the outcome so many people had hoped for. Please keep Tanner’s family in your prayers during this difficult time. https://t.co/GPkPWnl1kj
