A Georgia woman was convicted of killing her fiancé and keeping his body at her home for two months before authorities realised he had passed away.
According to court records obtained by WSB-TV, Tabitha Zelida Wood, 46, was found guilty on Friday by a Hall County jury of killing and covering up the death of her fiancé last year.
Leroy Franklin Kramer Jr., age 82, was found dead, according to officials, after his stepdaughter reported in June that she was worried for his safety after not hearing from him for a while.
When the Hall County Sheriff’s Deputies got to Kramer’s house, they found his body.
Wood informed the deputies that he had passed away at the beginning of April, and that she had been cohabitating with his body ever since.
The sheriff’s office performed an autopsy, which revealed that Kramer had been murdered.
According to the sheriff’s office, WSB-TV reports that his apparent blunt and sharp force trauma looks to be the primary cause of death.
In addition to being convicted guilty of financial transaction card theft, Wood was also found guilty of two charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, taking advantage of an aged person, and murder with malice.
