After a successful launch on Thursday morning from Boca Chica, Texas, SpaceX’s two-stage Starship detonated over the Gulf of Mexico.
The rocket did not reach orbit, but the test flight brought shouts from the control room when the spacecraft soared to dozens of miles in the sky. The rocket is expected to carry men to the moon as early as 2025.
