Prior to his 12-year-old daughter’s death on Thursday, a father apparently sent an ominous letter.
Police in Kentucky reported that Stacia Leigh Collins was found on a dirt road many hours after her father, Stacy, was discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to the mother of the schoolgirl, the father’s disturbing final message to her said, “Do you want to talk to your daughter one last time?”
Summer Mullins described Stacia as her only healthy daughter after losing two other kids to a rare disease.
According to Mullins, she and her daughter became close because they both enjoy scary movies and music.
She told WSAZ, “She adored Michael Meyers, Scream, even though it’s not really that scary, but she loved Scream.
The distraught mother claimed to have received the menacing text message and to have asked Stacia’s father what it meant.
Before Stacy became “dead silent,” the two had been talking on the phone and exchanging messages.
She then tried to contact and text her daughter, but she didn’t hear back.
Mullins added that it was unusual for her to be without a smartphone. She adores her cellphone and always carries one.
