This week, two special trains will run between Lahore and Rawalpindi on orders from Khawaja Saad Rafiq, the federal minister in charge of railroads.
As previously announced, they will travel simultaneously between Lahore and Rawalpindi.
The first non-stop train will depart from the Lahore station at 7:30 PM on September 5 (today) and arrive in Rawalpindi at 11:40 PM, according to railway officials, while the second non-stop train will depart from Rawalpindi at 7:30 PM and arrive in Lahore at 11:40 PM.
On September 6, at 5 AM, a second special train will leave the provincial capital in the direction of Rawalpindi. It will make stops in Gujranwala and Jhelum before arriving in Rawalpindi at 9:25 AM. At 5 AM, the second rail car headed for Lahore would depart Rawalpindi.
The organisers also indicated that there will be a power van, five economy class bogeys, two business class bogeys with air conditioning, and two standard bogeys with AC.
Prior to this, PR had to halt operations because the recent floods around the nation had destroyed and submerged the railway tracks.
In the meantime, the federal government wants the rail services in Sindh, Balochistan, and other areas of the nation hit by the rain and flooding to be swiftly restored. In response, PR stated that the restart of passenger train service might happen as early as Tuesday and could take a few days, depending on how quickly the water recedes over and along the rail tracks.
