The search for three young women who were reported missing this weekend after a night out has turned up three bodies.
The three women—Sophie Russon, 20, Eve Smith, 21, and Darcy Ross, 21—were last seen leaving Porthcawl early on March 4 and arriving in Newport, Wales.
The two men have also been listed as missing, and police have now confirmed that they travelled there in a Volkswagen Tiguan.
Officers searched for the five individuals and discovered the car they were last seen in in Cardiff’s St. Mellons neighbourhood.
Police believe the car, which was discovered just after midnight on March 6th, was involved in a collision and left the A48.
While the other two members of the group were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police have not yet determined which of them were among the dead.
In a statement on Twitter, Gwent Police said: “Following enquiries to locate five people who were reported as missing, officers have found the car they were last seen in, in the St Mellons area of Cardiff.
“The VW Tiguan was recovered just after midnight on Monday 6 March.
“It’s believed the car was involved in a road traffic collision and came off the A48.
“Three of those who were reported missing have been found deceased, two have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
