After seven years of marriage, Judge Sofia Vergara and her husband Joe Manganiello have announced their divorce, according to reports.
In a joint statement to Page Six, the Colombian beauty queen and True Blood actor confirmed the information.
Joe, 46, and Sofia, 51, revealed their separation to the outlet on Monday in a statement.
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” they said.
“As two very devoted and caring individuals, we kindly request respect for our privacy at this time as we move through this new stage of our lives.”
According to a source who spoke to the media outlet, “Sofia and Joe have been drifting apart for a while now and are taking some time apart to think about their future.”
When Sofia visited the actor for a project with Vince Vaughn, the couple was last spotted together in Hoboken, New Jersey, last month.
Cryptic Clues
However, the AGT judge is currently in Italy without Joe to celebrate her 51st birthday. She had shared a number of videos and pictures from her ongoing vacation that alarmed fans, including one in which she appeared to have taken off her wedding band.
Sofia posted pictures from a dinner celebration for Capri’s birthday that took place last Monday night. The Modern Family star smiled in them as she blew out her cake’s candles and was serenaded by a band.
She wrote, “So lucky to have my best friends in my favorite restaurant on my favorite island!!!” while posing with her friends. I adore you.
After learning that Joe wasn’t present for the celebrations that evening and hadn’t traveled with her to Italy, fans flooded the comments section with their worries.
Another post by Sofia had the following caption: “When life gives you lemons, you come to Italy to squeeze them.”
Fans were puzzled by the caption and the star of True Blood’s absence from her various uploads.
“Is anyone else wondering where Joe is?” one person asked in a message. A different person remarked, “Wondering where her husband is, he hasn’t shown up in any of the photos or videos.”
However, where is my husband? not captured in any image. They also listed their home for sale.
For the second time in a year, Sofia and Joe listed their $18 million Beverly Hills mansion for sale last month. Before getting married to Joe, Sofia, who is best known for her role as Gloria on Modern Family, purchased the seven-bedroom home in 2014 for $10.6 million.
Joe made headlines as well by wishing his wife a happy birthday on Instagram with the simple message, “!!Feliz Cumpleaos Sofa!!!.” (In Spanish, “Happy Birthday Sofa”).
Unhappy Birthday?
“Joe, I hope you guys are ok, that was a very different(cold) happy birthday wish to your wife, compared to previous ones!” said one user.
“Am I the only one who doesn’t like the way it sounds?” said another. Not even “My love, My beloved wife,” Sofia.
“Something is off,” wrote a third follower. “Cold message for her and has two tales regarding the birthday of his dog. And Sofia hasn’t even expressed gratitude.”
Additionally absent from Sofia’s July Fourth celebrations earlier this month was Joe.
With her son Manolo, 31, as well as her infrequently seen sister Sandra and other family members, the actress took part in a pool party.
Joe Gonzalez, Sofia’s high school sweetheart whom she wed at the age of 18, is the father of Manolo.
September 1991 saw the birth of Manolo, and the divorce took place in 1993. Joe was featured in Sofia’s final throwback Instagram post from late June, which you can see above.
The Romance Of Joe And Sofia
Joe and Sofia met in 2014, dated for six months, and got engaged on Christmas Eve of that same year. On November 21, 2015, they were married in Palm Beach, Florida, and soon after that, they spent $26 million on a mansion in Los Angeles.
In November 2021, the couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary, and Manganiello admitted to People that his “instincts about (Vergara) were right.”
According to Manganiello, “I knew pretty quickly that I could trust her, and she knew pretty quickly that she could trust me.”
And we’re both the kind of people who can put the needs of others before our own.
“She was capable of doing the same as I was of prioritizing her wishes over mine, whatever they may have been. You hold onto that once you have it.”
