The Peoples Bus Service (PBS) smartphone app will launch on June 22 according to Sindh Transport and Mass Transit Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, who was in charge of a meeting of the transport department on Tuesday.
The bus service, new routes, the intelligent transportation system (ITS), and the command and control room were all explained to the minister. In accordance with the intelligent transportation system, the buses will be equipped with CCTV cameras, audio systems, USB connections, Wi-Fi, and driver alarms, according to the briefing.
The mobile app will let users watch buses in real time and make payments online, and the ITS in buses will turn on CCTV cameras, screens, live tracking, and monitoring.
Infrastructure problems with electric bus charging were given top priority by the minister. By August 20, 20 green buses would join the PBS fleet in Karachi, according to the specifics.
To make travel easier, the Sindh government asked Memon to use PBS to link rural Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur, and Mirpurkhas to urban areas.
To assist users in planning their trips, the PBS mobile app will provide general information such as routes, schedules, and costs.
The second feature tracks buses and notifies commuters when the next one is on its way. The last bus to arrive will also be disclosed to the passengers.
The third feature enables users to pay for PBS via a QR code on the mobile app or purchase and activate a card. Keep in mind that the app’s official release date is June 22.
