With the temperature forecast to soar to between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius over the next few days, Sindh is expected to witness some abnormally high temperatures in February.
The Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Umarkot, Badin, and Thatta districts of the province will experience rising temperatures, according to the chief meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz.
This warm period is anticipated to extend until February 21, with the cooling benefits of the sea wind temporarily delayed as an AntiCyclonic Circulation moves closer to the shore.
Notably, the previous record-breaking February temperature for the area was 36.5 degrees Celsius on February 27, 2016.
Climate change is predicted to be the cause of this unusual weather pattern and the following heatwave, therefore experts advise people to take the necessary precautions to stay cool and healthy.
