The Met Office reported on Sunday that the cold wave has already begun to affect upper Sindh and would likely affect the remaining areas starting on Monday.
According to the Met Office’s weather forecast, the minimum temperature may dip to 6 to 8 degrees Celsius in the districts of Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Sujawal, and Badin.
According to Pakistan’s Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in the Sindh districts of Sukkur, Ghotki, Larkana, Qambar-Shahdadkot, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Jamshoro, Dadu, Khairpur, Tharparker, and Umerkot may dip to 2-4 degrees Celsius (PMD).
In Shaheed Benazirabad, Naushahro Feroze, Sanghar, Matiari, Mirpur Khas, Tando Muhammad Khan, and Tando Allah Yar districts, the temperature may dip to 3-5 oCelsius, while it may be 6-8 oCelsius in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Sujawal, and Badin districts, according to the Met Office.
During the cold wave, people have been encouraged to take precautions.
Balochistan’s northern districts are witnessing a severe cold wave as Ziarat’s temperature dipped to minus 11.
This morning, the lowest temperatures were reported at minus-08 in Kalat and minus-04 in Quetta, the province capital. Today’s weather in Quetta will be chilly and dry.
According to a weather report, the lowest temperatures were minus 04 in Zhob and minus 03 in Dalbandin.
In the coming week, the province is expected to see extreme cold, according to the weather service.
