To honour Youm-e-Ali, the Sindh government has declared April 12 (Wednesday) a holiday for all schools, colleges, and institutions. In this context, the education department also released the following notification:
In pursuance of decision of the Steering Committee meeting held on February 22, 2022, all the public and private educational institutes under the administrative control of the College Education Department shall remain closed on Wednesday April 12, 2023 on account of Youm-e-Ali (21st Ramzan, 1444).
The entire country will observe Youm-e-Ali, or the anniversary of Hazrat Ali’s (RA) martyrdom, on April 12. On the 21st of Ramadan, Youm-e-Ali is commemorated, and many parades are performed all across the country to remember Hazrat Ali’s sacrifice. (RA).
To commemorate Hazrat Ali’s (RA) life and memory, people from Sindh in particular organise sizable gatherings and processions on the designated day. On the mentioned day, heavy traffic is common owing to the big number of people on the roadways.
In order to successfully maintain peace and order and to help citizens avoid any inconvenience, the government has declared the specified vacation.
