The passing of former Patriots offensive lineman Shelby Jordan has left the New England Patriots inconsolable. At the age of 70, Jordan passed away on Friday, September 9.
With the New England Patriots (1975–82) and the Los Angeles Raiders, Jordan played 12 seasons in the NFL (1983-86). Jordan was selected by the Houston Oilers in the seventh round of the 1973 NFL Draft out of Washington University in St. Louis, and he then signed with the New England Patriots as a free agent in 1974. During his eight seasons with the Patriots, Jordan started 87 of the 95 games at right tackle. He played for the Raiders until the end of his career, where he was a part of the 1983 Super Bowl XVIII winning squad. Jordan was admitted to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2013.
During this trying time, Shelby’s family and friends are in the thoughts of the whole Patriots family.
