The talented Sheheryar Munawar’s Budhi Ghori Laal Lagam, a Geo telefilm, managed to win the competition against many other Eid ul Adha telefilms. It won over audiences with its excellent cast and novel plot that contained a hidden message.
The telefilm, written by Sheheryar Munawar, centers on a couple in their 60s named Jahangir and Zubi who devote their entire lives to raising their children, Ayesha and Kareem. Jahangir is portrayed by Salman Shahid, and Zubi is portrayed by Simi Raheal.
After their children have grown up and moved out, they concentrate on each other’s well-being and work to find joy in each other’s company. However, their children find it strange that their parents are leading an unconventional, carefree lifestyle while spending money, and they do not appreciate this.
It goes into great detail about the social stigma attached to elderly people leading independent lives and highlights the responses of various societal segments. While some applaud the couple and refer to them as “couple goals,” others make fun of them for leading happy, fulfilling lives.
The surprise appearances of Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed were the icing on the cake, along with Simi Raheal and Salman Shahid’s insightful and enjoyable moments. They gave the telefilm its spark, enlarging it and establishing the tone for the remainder of it.
Sheheryar Munawar wrote and directed the film. Salman Shahid, Simi Raheal, Ahsan Khan, Sarwat Gillani, Behroze Sabzwari, Asma Abbas, Huma Nawab, and Aadi Adeal Amjad are among the impressive cast members of Budhi Ghori Laal Lagam.
