Authorities announced Wednesday that a teen and a woman were detained in connection with the shooting death of Los Angeles rapper PnB Rock and that police are looking for the teen’s father.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the 17-year-old man was charged with murder on Tuesday after reportedly shooting the hip hop musician at Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles earlier this month.
According to the LAPD, Shauntel Trone, 32, was arrested for accessory to murder.
On Wednesday, Freddie Lee Trone, the boy’s father, was still at large.
On Wednesday, investigators made Trone’s picture public in an effort to find him and issued a caution that he might be carrying a pistol.
“He should be regarded as dangerous and armed. If you spot him, please dial 911 right away for assistance, the LAPD advised in a press release.
Rakim Hasheem Allen, the 30-year-old rapper best known for his song “Selfish,” was robbed on September 12 at the popular chain restaurant’s Inglewood location and was specifically targeted for his jewels, according to investigators.
According to authorities, the rapper’s killing may have been caused by an Instagram post from the rapper’s girlfriend that featured him inside the eatery.
In the days after his passing, PnB Rock’s 2016 single “Selfish” shot to the top of the charts and on September 15 became the most streamed song in the US on Apple Music.
