The Marcus Sakey novel’s Paramount Pictures adaptation, Brilliance, will mark Sharmeen Obaid-narrative Chinoy’s feature directing debut. She has won two Oscars and four Emmys for her work. I, Robot, I Am Legend, and Hancock co-directors Will Smith and Akiva Goldsman’s passion project is Pic. The Brilliance trilogy takes place in a future in which individuals who are not neurotypical and who are stigmatised by society as “twists” or “abnorms” pose a threat to the well-being of the “normal” population due to their special abilities. Smith will play Nick Cooper, a federal agent with the Department of Analysis and Response, the protagonist of the book series.
