Nearly two years after her twin sister was accused of committing the same crime against a 7-year-old girl, a Texas mother is now facing charges of capital murder in the deaths of three of her children.
On Friday afternoon, Shamaiya Deyonshanaye Hall, 25, is accused of killing a boy, 6, and a girl and a boy, both 5, in their Italy, Texas home. According to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, a 4-year-old boy and a 13-month-old girl were also stabbed and hurt.
According to investigators, the stabbing deaths happened as a caseworker for Texas Child Protective Services tried to take the kids out of the Harris Street house.
“The caseworker then called the Ellis County Sheriff 911 dispatch at approximately 4:00 PM. The Italy Police Department was dispatched to the residence and arrived on scene at approximately 4:05 PM. The Officer discovered 5 critically injured children inside the residence,” the sheriff’s office said, adding, “We ask for you to keep the family, the community of Italy, and First Responders in your thoughts and prayers during this tragic time.”
Similar thoughts and prayers were extended on Saturday by the Italy Police Department to “all first responders, investigators who worked the scene, and the victims, family, and friends of those who were touched by the tragic events that unfolded yesterday afternoon.”
According to Ellis County jail records reviewed by Law&Crime, Hall is being held on a $2,000,000 bond for each count of three capital murders of multiple people. Hall is about to start her fourth day behind bars.
WFAA reported that the defendant’s twin sister was charged with stabbing and killing a child almost two years prior as the investigation into the shocking case went on.
According to a June 2021 Fox 4 report, Troyshaye Hall allegedly confessed to killing her 7-year-old daughter Madison Petry in an apparent random attack by stabbing the girl more than 30 times after being literally caught red-handed. However, according to Dallas County court records, the defendant was declared incompetent to stand trial on charges of capital murder on October 12, 2021.
According to the twin sisters’ birthdate of July 11, 1997, Dallas County jail records. According to WFAA, North Texas State Hospital, which offers “inpatient psychiatric services to adults, children, and adolescents,” is where Troyshaye Hall is being held.
According to Dallas County court records, Shamaiya Hall had previously been charged with aggravated assault there for allegedly stabbing her sister’s boyfriend.
