On May 15, after being shuttered for a few days owing to the nation’s deteriorating law and order situation, schools in Punjab and Khyber Pakthunkhwa are scheduled to reopen.
All educational institutions in the province of Punjab, according to interim chief minister Mohsin Naqvi, will reopen on May 15. Educational institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will also reopen on May 15, and matric examinations will start as planned on Monday.
Following the arrest of PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Tuesday, the caretaker administrations in both provinces suspended institutions and universities, which worsened the peace and order situation. The administration has chosen to reopen the educational institutions nevertheless, as the issue is now under control.
Mohsin Naqvi, the chief minister of Punjab, has directed all relevant officials to maintain maximum cooperation and a tranquil atmosphere. The authorities have been directed to make sure that all safety precautions are taken and that the pupils have a safe and secure environment in which to learn.
