The Pakistani Senate celebrates its Golden Jubilee in 2023. The Federal Government has given the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) permission to issue a commemorative coin worth Rs. 50 to mark this important occasion.
From March 17, 2023, the coin will be distributed through the exchange counters of all SBP Banking Services Corporation field offices (today).
The upper legislative chamber of Pakistan’s bicameral parliament is known as the Senate or Aiwan-e-Bala Pakistan (constitutionally, the House of the Federation). The Senate of Pakistan is a permanent House that represents a process of continuity in governmental affairs. It has equal representation from all of Pakistan’s provinces.
The coin has a round shape, measures 30.0 mm in diameter, weighs 13.5 grammes, and is made of copper and nickel (75% copper, 25% nickel).
