The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has replied to concerns that the Rs75 notes, a commemorative note presented for the general population on the country’s diamond jubilee, will be discontinued.
The Rs75 commemorative banknote was launched on August 14, 2022, and was made accessible to the general public on September 30, 2018.
On the obverse side of the note, pictures of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Fatima Jinnah, Allama Iqbal, and Sir Syed Ahmed Khan are printed in green and white.
However, consumers across the country were having difficulty utilising the Rs75 currency for transactions since numerous companies refused to accept them.
The lack of acceptance at business locations fueled speculations about the currency note’s demise.
In a clarifying statement, the SBP stated that there are no plans to remove the Rs75 currency note, and that it is completely acceptable for all types of transactions, just like other currencies.
It went on to say that the currency had been manufactured in adequate quantities and would not be issued again.
The central bank’s representative also stated that the Rs10 coin was introduced in 2016 and that there were no plans to remove the Rs10 currency note or the Rs1 and Rs2 coins.
