The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has put a lot of effort into boosting tourism, as shown by the fact that it has surpassed other nations on the World Tourism Organization index (WTO) and is now the second-fastest-growing travel destination globally.
More than 16.6 million tourists visited the nation in 2022, and 7.8 million did so in just the first three months of 2023, according to statistics. The development of the tourism industry, the ease of obtaining travel visas, and the promotion of tourist destinations are all factors in the success.
The achievements not only in the tourism sector but in many others, according to Ahmed Al-Khateeb, the minister of tourism, can be attributed to “wise leadership.” He added that King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud would keep working to improve the nation’s standing on the world tourism map.
Ahmed Al-Khateeb emphasized that the ministry would strengthen its collaboration with both the public and private sectors in order to hasten the Kingdom’s status as a “global tourism hub.”
