Four items that pilgrims are not allowed to bring on their Hajj journey are restricted by Saudi Arabia. Strict guidelines regarding the prohibition on carrying specific items during air travel for guests of Rahman (referring to pilgrims) have been released by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The following items are not permitted on flights, according to the ministry’s announcement to pilgrims flying to Makkah and Madinah:
Plastic Bags:
Since it’s prohibited to bring filled plastic bags on airplanes, pilgrims shouldn’t bring any of their belongings in them. If pilgrims break this rule, they might run into trouble at the airport.
Bottled Water and Open Liquids:
It is imperative that pilgrims avoid bringing any liquids that might spill while flying, including water. Water bottles and other similar items may be taken from their luggage by airport staff.
Unpackaged or Poorly Packaged Items:
You cannot bring anything on the plane that is not properly packaged or that could spill or come loose from its packaging.
Wrapped Items in Clothing:
No bags or items should be brought by pilgrims that have been wrapped in clothing. It is prohibited to bring such items on board the aircraft.
According to reports, Saudi Arabia is finishing up its preparations for the upcoming Hajj season. The second phase of exercises for the upcoming Hajj season, involving numerous Ministry departments and the Guests of Rahman, was officially launched by Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Minister of Hajj and Umrah.
He emphasized that in order to improve operational capabilities across the board, the Ministry will conduct another hypothetical exercise before the Hajj season begins. These simulated experiences, which go beyond just transportation and catering to include aspects like civil defense, catering, and managing potential incidents, will offer invaluable insights into the operational system and the needs and challenges of the pilgrims.
