A TEEN girl’s sporadic boyfriend is accused of stabbing and running over the victim before she died.
Following the sad event, Saraiah Acosta, 18, is recalled as “the life of the party.”
In Rancho Cordova, California, on February 1, shortly after 1.15 pm, police were called to a residence.
According to a news release from the Rancho Cordova Police Department and Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, the caller who called to inform police of the residence claimed that the adolescent had been ran over and stabbed many times.
When they got there, they discovered Acosta with numerous stab wounds.
At the scene, she was pronounced deceased.
Devian Lewis, 22, was named as the suspect as police continued to gather evidence.
Police discovered that Lewis was being pursued by California Highway Patrol as they started their hunt for him.
It was discovered by authorities that Lewis was armed throughout the chase.
In Elk Grove, police were attempting to apprehend Lewis when there was an officer-involved shooting.
According to the press release, Lewis is still in the hospital.
He has not been officially accused of anything.
The homicide will be investigated by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, while the shooting will be looked at by the Elk Grove Police Department and the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office.
