As her voice broke, she added: “Excuse me.”
It happens after police today said they had located a woman they wanted to talk with who was visible in a CCTV footage.
A timeline of the missing mother’s last actions before she vanished was also revealed by the police.
After leaving her two kids off at school, Nicola, 45, started her walk along the towpath to the River Wyre at 8:43 in the morning.
According to the police, around seven minutes later, a dog walker who is familiar with Nicola spotted her walking Willow, a springer spaniel, around the lower field.
Before she left Nicola via the river walk, the witness claimed that their two dogs had a brief interaction.
The mother sent her employer at Exclusively Mortgages an email at 8:53 am.
At 9.01 am, she joined a Teams call and was then seen around nine.
The work call terminated at 9.30am, according to the police, but Nicola kept plugged on.
Around 9.35 am, Willow and the mobile were discovered near a bench by the river, but Nicola was nowhere to be found.
Today, police blocked off a pathway that goes to a bench where Nicola’s phone was discovered with the work call still active.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact 101 and reference log 473 from January 27.
