The foldable Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are anticipated to go on sale the following month. The upcoming Unpacked event, which is slated to take place in Seoul in late July, will be held there, according to Samsung. As a flagship foldable smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 will debut as a replacement for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 (Review), which was released in 2016. The company has not confirmed any details about the premium foldable phone’s features or specifications. Meanwhile, a tipper has suggested the Galaxy Z Fold 5’s complete specifications.
Some of the most important details of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, which have previously leaked, have been repeated by tipper Yogesh Brar. The tipster claims that a 7.6-inch QXGA+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate will be featured on the foldable phone. According to reports, the foldable screen does not have a notch or hole-punch cutout for the front camera. Instead, a 4-megapixel under-screen camera is anticipated to be housed in it.
According to Brar, the foldable will have an exterior 6.2-inch AMOLED display with a full-HD+ resolution. The 10-megapixel front camera could have a hole-punch cutout on the outer display. Brar added that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC will be found inside the Galaxy Z Fold 5. According to a recent Geekbench listing, the foldable will have a 3.36GHz-capable Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC that has been overclocked. The Galaxy S23 series, the current market leader, uses the same SoC.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is anticipated to come with 12GB of RAM from Samsung. It is rumored to be offered in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage capacities in a number of markets. In addition, the foldable is anticipated to have a 4,400mAh battery and support 25W fast charging, just like the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
The camera division might remain unchanged. With a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is most likely to have a triple-camera setup on the back. Last but not least, the device is rumored to come pre-installed with One UI 5.1 based on Android 13.
In the past, Galaxy Z Fold 5 design renderings have leaked. If the leaked design renderings are accurate, the foldable phone might have the same appearance as its predecessor. According to rumors, the foldable phone will have a new waterdrop hinge that will help minimize crease visibility. The phone reportedly has an IPX8 water resistance rating.
