A new leak has revealed the key details of the upcoming foldable flagship smartphones as anticipation for them grows. A Qualcomm Snapdragon for Galaxy chipset is expected to power the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. While the clamshell Galaxy Z Flip 5 is rumored to pack 12-megapixel dual rear cameras, the triple rear camera unit on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is said to feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is anticipated to follow the Galaxy Z Fold 4 from the previous year, and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will replace the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
The alleged specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 have been tweeted by tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh). The upcoming foldable smartphones are expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon for Galaxy SoC, similar to the Galaxy S23 lineup. The “Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy” powers the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra.
Additionally, it is anticipated that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will have the same triple rear camera setup as its predecessor. A 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel primary sensor could be included. As opposed to the Galaxy Z Flip 4, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is rumored to have a dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera. New image sensors, an improved hinge, and larger cover displays are anticipated for both handsets.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are rumored to have the same storage options as their predecessor, according to a previous leak. While the latter is expected to come in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage models, the former may be offered in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options.
While the Galaxy Z Fold 5 may debut in Beige, Black, and Light Blue hues, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to come in Beige, Gray, Light Green, and Light Pink color options.
