In February of last year, Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy S22 tablet series. Plans for the same seem to have been put off or delayed this year as its tablet lineup was absent from its Unpacked event. Only recently have some leaks started to slowly make their way down the rumor mill. We now know that the tablets could be unveiled in the second half of this year and that they might include the newest Qualcomm processors as a result of a recent leak. And now, another leak has surfaced that provides additional information about the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra tablet.
The most expensive model of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series will have hardware that is similar to the current model, according to a report. It is anticipated that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will be the same size as the previous Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. The tipster claims that the tablet’s dimensions—208.6 x 326.4 x 5.5mm—are comparable to those of the current model. The display of the upcoming tablet may have comparable measurements. It will likely be a 14.6-inch panel with a 2,960 x 1,848 (WQXGA+) resolution. Refresh rate information has not been leaked.
An IP rating is an improvement in terms of design. The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra tablet will receive an IP68 rating, contrary to a previous leak that indicated the entire Galaxy Tab S9 series would receive an IP67 rating. The anticipated weight of the tablet is 737g, or roughly the same as the outgoing model.
The battery’s capacity and charging rates are also unchanged from the current model due to the similar dimensions. According to the most recent leak, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra should have an 11,200mAh battery that could support 45W wired charging. This contradicts an earlier rumor that said the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra would have a 10,880mAh battery.
The earlier report also suggested that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoCs would be upgraded for the new Tab models. Along with a 16GB LPDDR5X RAM option, which was a variant also announced with the outgoing model, the most recent leak also suggests the same. Uncertainty still exists regarding Samsung’s decision to use the standard processor or its specialized platform for the Galaxy, as it did with the new Galaxy S23 series.
