The Galaxy S23 series was introduced by Samsung earlier this year. The 10x optical zoom camera on the high-end Galaxy S23 Ultra attracted attention. The Galaxy S23 Ultra’s successor is now the subject of rumors and conjecture circulating online. According to a recent report, the rumored Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a slight camera improvement over its predecessor. Although the rumored Galaxy S24 Ultra may go on sale next year alongside the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+, the launch is still months away.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra will come equipped with the same camera setup as the current Galaxy S23 Ultra, according to a fresh leak from tipster, @UniverseIce. This indicates that the smartphone may include a 12-megapixel Sony IMX564 ultra-wide lens in addition to a 200-megapixel Samsung HP2 primary camera. The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s other two cameras, however, reportedly receive a modest upgrade from the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
A 12-megapixel Sony IMX754 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and an additional 12-megapixel Sony IMX754+ image sensor with 10x optical zoom is anticipated for the smartphone. The current Galaxy S23 Ultra has two 10-megapixel telephoto cameras, one with a 3x optical zoom and the other with a 10x optical zoom.
On its back panel, the phone might also have an LED flash and a laser autofocus unit. Other than these, the tipster hasn’t provided any information regarding the specifications of the selfie camera.
The most recent rumor disproves an earlier report that claimed the Galaxy S24 Ultra might have a 3x telephoto sensor similar to the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is anticipated to ship with One UI 6.0, which is based on Android 14. It may have a 144Hz refresh rate display and be powered by Qualcomm’s yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, according to a previous report.
