The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is anticipated to hit the market in 2024. Like its predecessors, the flagship series is anticipated to include three models: the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy S23 series, which included the Samsung Galaxy S23, the Samsung Galaxy S23+, and the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, was introduced by the company earlier this year. Since then, the South Korean tech giant has released quite a few additional smartphones, and many more are anticipated for later this year.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, according to a report. Samsung has only used display panels with refresh rates up to 120Hz up until this point. Even the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, a member of the Galaxy S23 series, has a display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy S24 Ultra might be the first Samsung phone with a 144Hz display, which should provide smoother gaming and animation.
The report also offers a number of other Galaxy S24 series specifications. The devices could be equipped with UFS 4.1 storage and run Qualcomm’s yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The devices should launch One UI 6.0, which is based on Android 14. According to reports, the camera units have 200-megapixel sensors with unnamed upgrades and better-zooming abilities. All of these reports and specifications should be treated with a grain of salt because the Galaxy S24 series hasn’t received any official announcements as of yet.
The report also makes the suggestion that Samsung might include satellite connectivity with the Galaxy S24 series. It’s too soon to incorporate the feature into Samsung devices, according to TM Roh, president and head of Samsung’s mobile experience business, who stated this earlier this year in an interview. This is because smartphone satellite functionality is still quite limited.
Roh continued, “Of course, for Samsung Galaxy, for our mobile division, we would also actively consider adopting this feature as well when there is the right timing, infrastructure, and technology [are] ready.
