A heartbroken family has demanding explanations after a father-of-three passed away after police used a Taser on him “several times.”
Sali Byberi, 29, killed away last month following his alleged attack on a police officer dispatched to a home in Essex to look into “a disturbance.”
While police were conducting their investigation, Mr. Byberi is seen on body camera footage reviewed by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) “supposedly assaulting” an officer. He apparently resisted arrest, so the Taser was used to ‘incapacite’ him.
Now, the ‘family-oriented’ and ‘hardworking’ father’s loved ones are seeking answers from authorities as they ‘try to come to terms with his death.’
On November 21, at roughly 1.15 pm, an officer used a Taser’multiple times’ on Mr. Byberi at a residence on Clock House Way in Braintree because he was resisting arrest for allegedly assaulting the officer.
Less than two hours earlier, two cops had been dispatched to the house to look into a disturbance.
Police haven’t yet disclosed the details of the incident, including why the officers were called to the residence and Mr. Byberi’s involvement.

Before Mr. Byberi began to struggle, officers made an attempt to apprehend him. A police officer then repeatedly tasered him, ‘incapacitating’ him before he then
‘The last few weeks and trying to come to terms with his death and that he’ll no longer be in our lives, but particularly his children’s, has been incredibly traumatic.
‘It’s almost impossible to find the words to describe the hurt and pain we feel. We’ve so many questions and all we hope for now at least is that we can get some answers.’
