Saadi Abbas, Representing Pakistan, Win Gold Medal at International Karate Championship

During the prestigious Montreal Open International Karate Championship, which took place on June 10–11 2023, the city of Montreal was treated to an electrifying display of talent and tenacity.

Saadi Abbas, a representative of Pakistan in the 75 kg division, triumphed among the esteemed competitors and won the gold medal for his nation.

Saadi’s extraordinary ascent to the top began with a sensational triumph over Iran’s Hamoon Dearfshipur. Saadi demonstrated his agility and accuracy in a closely contested match to earn a spirited 4-2 victory.

Saadi didn’t let his initial success stop him from dazzling the audience with his incredible Karate skills. The talented Canadian athlete Ilyas Abdoun was his opponent in the following rounds, and he defeated him by the same score of 4-2.

Saadi performed in a masterclass in the final against Allarie Caron Nellgan, another Canadian. Saadi won with a commanding performance, defeating his opponent with a commanding score of 4-1. He unquestionably won the coveted gold medal due to his continued superior performance throughout the competition.

Saadi Abbas’ outstanding accomplishment has also opened up more possibilities on the global stage. He will compete on Pakistan’s behalf at the upcoming Asian Games, which will take place in China later this year.

Saadi aims to extend his winning streak and further establish himself as one of the best karate athletes in the world with his exceptional abilities and unwavering resolve.
