Prior to its scheduled launch in 2025, the upcoming Saudi airline Riyadh Air has begun a significant recruitment drive for pilots.
The first batch of pilots will aid them during the training process until the airline launches in two years, according to Peter Bellew, the airline’s Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Pilots with training experience on the Boeing 777 or Boeing 787-9 are encouraged to apply for the positions listed on the Riyadh Air website, according to Bellew.
While the interview process will start this September, the official induction will start in January 2024, according to Bellew. He added that although the airline is open to hiring pilots with wide-body aircraft experience, they will only hire 700 pilots with experience flying the 787.
The COO outlined the advantages of working for Riyadh Air and suggested that those who wanted to live in a bustling city that was undergoing significant development might find this to be the ideal opportunity.
Public Investment Fund (PIF), the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia, established Riyad Air in April of this year, placing a multibillion-dollar order for approximately 72 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
The airline expects to take delivery of about 121 787 Dreamliners in total, ranking as Boeing’s fifth-largest commercial order ever.
