The Redmi Note 12 Turbo’s release date has been revealed. On March 28, Xiaomi will unveil its new Redmi Note 12 5G (Review) series phone in China. In terms of performance, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo is projected to outperform the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G (Review) in China. Xiaomi has disclosed certain critical characteristics of the forthcoming Redmi Note 12 Turbo ahead of its official introduction. The Redmi Note 12 Turbo, according to the firm, would be the first smartphone to use the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 Processor.
With the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, the firm says that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo would set a “new standard” (translated from Chinese). The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC is manufactured on a 4nm technology and has a maximum clock speed of 2.91GHz. It includes an Adreno 725 GPU. The SoC is said to perform around 50% better than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. In addition, Qualcomm says that the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC is 13% more efficient than its predecessor.
In addition to the performance data, Xiaomi showed the handset’s design. The Redmi Note 12 Turbo will resemble the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G devices that debuted in China and India, respectively. The phone is designed with a flat frame and three circular camera rings on the rear. The teaser also says the phone’s primary camera sensor would be 64 megapixels. The other two cameras will most likely have ultra-wide and macro lenses. Next to the camera sensors is an LED flash module.
The primary speaker, USB Type-C connector, and SIM tray are all positioned on the phone’s bottom side. Along the top edge, there is a 3.5mm headphone socket, as well as holes for the IR blaster and secondary microphone. The power and volume buttons for the phone are seen on the right edge.
The phone is expected to be released internationally as the Poco X5 GT. There is currently no news from the company on plans for a global launch of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo.
