The Ramadan moon may be visible today, but the weather is cloudy, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Wednesday.
Today in Karachi, the moon can be seen at around 7:28 p.m., according to PMD officials at the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s Zonal Meeting.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which is holding the meeting in Peshawar to discuss moon sightings for Ramadan, will be notified if the committee sees the moon in the port city.
The meeting in Peshawar is being presided over by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, who stated that he would make a final determination regarding the Ramadan moon sighting based on eyewitness reports.
In addition to holding committee meetings in each province alternately, a representative of the Ministry of Religious Affairs previously stated to The News that the meeting this time in Peshawar was being held to foster consensus regarding the sighting of the crescent of Ramadan on the same day.
He claimed that in addition to receiving requests for testimony, the committee would also extend invitations to members of the secret Ruet committees so they could give oral testimony. In order to confirm this, the committee will also cross-examine witnesses who have provided evidence.
