The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that a westerly wave is likely to hit North Balochistan on January 18 and cause rain or snowfall in some areas of Balochistan until January 19.
On January 18 and 19, Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Harnai, Qilla Saifullah, Qilla Abdullah, Muslim Bagh, Kalat, Khuzdar, Turbat, Panjgur, and Makran coast could expect rain/snowfall (with isolated heavy fall).
In other regions of the country, weather conditions are predicted to be partly cloudy to cloudy. Beginning on January 21, a different weather system is predicted to approach the country’s higher regions.
The PMD has issued a warning that isolated areas of North Balochistan may experience moderate winds and heavy fall or snowfall, which could hamper travel and force road closures. Visitors are urged to exercise additional caution throughout the time.
Balochistan’s agriculture and orchards will benefit from the rain. It’s expected that temperatures will drop dramatically both during and after the spell.
NDMA Alert
Due to the persistent cold weather in the north of the country, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning to the public to exercise caution.
Tourists are advised not to travel when visibility is poor or when the roads are ice by the relevant authority. Tourists should base their plans on the weather forecast, according to the NDMA.
