Once Rafael Vinoly, a renowned architect, passed away at the age of 78, MANCHESTER CITY paid tribute to him.
The Etihad Campus, which was opened in 2013 and houses City’s training facility, was designed by Vinoly, who is well known for his work on the 1,400-foot luxury tower 432 Park Avenue in New York.
The enormous 80-acre complex has 16 indoor and outdoor pitches.
As Vinoly passed away on Thursday at a hospital in New York, City paid tribute to him.
The improvement of the club’s facilities, which allowed the team draw in the greatest players and management in the world, has also received praise from the supporters.
Vinoly also created structures for the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Philadelphia Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.
Fans paid respect to the Uruguyan, who, according to his son Roman, passed away from an aneurysm.
One fan wrote: “What a legacy he left, will always be remembered.”
