Quetta Gladiators Beats Karachi Kings in the 22nd match of the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) 2023 edition at the Pindi Club Ground, Rawalpindi.
Martin Guptill proved to be a real threat for Karachi Kings on Monday, as he single-handedly won a crucial game for Quetta Gladiators in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 in Rawalpindi.
Guptill demonstrated his dominance once again, leading Gladiators to a four-wicket victory after scoring his maiden PSL century against Kings in their previous match this season.

Gladiators’ batting line has deteriorated yet again as they prepare to chase 165 runs in their 22nd PSL 8 match. Omair Bin Yousuf (8) was out in the second over, followed by a string of dismissals.
Iftikhar Ahmed failed to score once again during this year’s PSL as he could only add four runs today.

Gladiators were 63-5 when Guptill took over alongside skipper Sarfaraz, who left the field during the first inning after being hit by a ball on his finger. The two batters combined for 95 runs, with Guptill contributing the most.
As Gladiators cruised to a much-needed victory, the right-handed batter scored an unbeaten 86 runs. His devastating blow included nine boundaries and four maximums. Sarfaraz scored 29 points out of a possible 25 in his team’s victory.
Tabraiz Shamsi took two wickets for Kings, who are now out of the tournament.

Aamer Yamin struck in his first over after appearing in a cameo, giving Karachi Kings an early breakthrough while defending 165 runs.
Mohammad Musa also took a wicket to assist Aamer in reducing Gladiators to 2-37 in five overs.

Earlier, Kings wicket-keeper batter Adam Rossington hit a match-saving knock to set Gladiators a target of 165 runs in 20 overs.
In a must-win game, Gladiators chose to field first, which was followed by Naseem Shah’s perfect start. The right-arm pacer dismissed dangerous Matthew Wade on the first delivery to give Quetta Gladiators a strong start. Wade walked off for nothing after a pitched-up delivery.

Young Aimal Khan, making his comeback, dismissed Tayyab Tahir in the fourth over to further damage Kings.
Despite losing a couple of quick wickets in the powerplay, Rossington remained upbeat. He had 40 runs scored on the power play.

Aimal struck again after the powerplay, this time bagging Tayyab Tahir, who managed only seven points.
Meanwhile, Rossington continued to score runs. He hit his first fifty off 31 balls in the 12th over of the game. He added 19 more runs to his fifty before being dismissed by Naveen-ul-Haq. His inning featured 10 boundaries and a home run.
Skipper Imad Wasim continued his form and scored 30 runs off 20 balls including three boundaries and a six. Aamer Yamin, a bowling all-rounder, gave him his full support.
