Punjab Extends Winter Vacations for Schools and Colleges Till 8 January

In the wake of extremely cold weather, the Education Ministry has decided to extend the winter vacations in public and private educational institutes operating in Punjab till 8 January.

The winter break has been extended from January 2 to January 8 in public and private schools throughout Punjab, according to the School Education Department (SED). On January 9, school-related activities will resume.

Winter break in schools from December 24 to December 31 was announced by the SED on December 15. On January 2, the schools were supposed to reopen.

Winter break has been extended in Punjab’s public and private institutions from January 2 to January 8, according to the Higher Education Department (HED). On January 9, the colleges will reopen.

The HED letter further stated that exams would be held in public and private colleges in accordance with the boards’ and institutions’ previously announced schedules.

The HED announced winter break in colleges from 24 December to 31 December on December 22. On January 2, classes were supposed to start up again.
