Due to the current scenario, Punjab education officials stated Wednesday that ninth-grade board examinations planned for May 11 and 12 had been postponed.
Exams across the province, administered by nine separate boards, have been postponed, according to a statement from the Punjab Higher Education Department (PHED), and a new date will be announced later.
In addition, the PHED declared that all colleges and institutions in the province will be closed for two additional days (May 11 and 12). Medical schools, on the other hand, will stay open.
Because of the country’s evolving circumstances, the British Council has also cancelled all Cambridge International, Pearson, University of London, ACCA, and IELTS tests planned for May 11 across Pakistan.
The PHED had already postponed tests slated for today due to nationwide turmoil following the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
In the subsequent unrest, at least four people were murdered, and the army was summoned in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan. In the meanwhile, Sindh enacted Section 144 in order to preserve law and order.
Mobile data services were shut for a second day while Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook were disrupted.
