Bhutto, who was born on January 5th, 1928, was an accomplished leader who, on November 30th, 1967, founded the Pakistan People’s Party, which is now run by his maternal grandchild, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.
On April 4, 1979, nearly two years after General Ziaul Haq implemented martial law and toppled his government, Bhutto was executed by hanging following a contentious trial.
PPP has termed his death “judicial murder”.
