Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has postponed Karachi jalsa that was scheduled for 24 August (Friday).

Sources claims that the party postponed the jalsa in Karachi after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) indicated that the city’s local elections would be delayed due to the devastation brought on by rain in various areas.

This is the second time PTI had postponed its public rally in Karachi.

While taking into consideration the current emergency rain condition, the election authority today postponed local government polls in the divisions of Hyderabad and Karachi.

The decision was made by the chief election commissioner based on information provided by the district administration and election commissioner for Sindh, according to individuals with knowledge of the development.

In advance of the local body elections in Karachi, the Election Commission of Pakistan requested an urgent report from six important institutions earlier today (Wednesday).
