The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and all six of the league’s franchises came to an agreement late Friday night that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023 matches will proceed as scheduled in the coastal city.
Questions were raised about the PSL 8 matches that were set to take place in the city after the attack on the Karachi police chief’s office earlier in the day.
Nonetheless, the PCB convened an urgent meeting to which franchise representatives were invited. In the discussion, the cricket board discussed franchises in private with the provincial government and security organisations.
They all decided to go with the current PSL edition in Karachi according to schedule as a consequence.
Quetta Gladiators will play Karachi Kings at National Stadium, as scheduled.
Three consecutive games will be held in Karachi on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. On February 26, there will be no more games in the port city.
It should be noted that Quetta and Lahore Qalandars were practising in the city’s stadium at the time of the incident. Until the security checkpoint was open, both teams remained inside the stadium.
