Within the next few hours, the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will start. A spectacular opening ceremony will precede Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans’ inaugural match at Multan Cricket Stadium as the tournament’s curtain-raiser.
Multan has always been a fantastic place to play cricket because the stadium is packed with ardent supporters, but this time around it appears like the stadium won’t be at full capacity because the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) hasn’t been able to sell out the tickets for the first day of the competition.
There are still more than 2,500 tickets available online for the first game with just a few hours left. While seven of the nine enclosures are sold out, thousands of seats are still available for Imran Khan and Fazal Mahmood.
The Inzamam-ul-Haq enclosure, which has seats costing Rs. 18,000 each, and the regular stands, which have tickets costing between Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 3,000 each, are both sold out. Tickets for the enclosure for Imran Khan and Fazal Mahmood cost 6,000 each.
The opening game taking place on a workday, the expensive cost of tickets, and PCB’s failure to promote the tournament as before could all be contributing factors.
There are still tickets available for purchase for the meeting on bookme’s website.
