Shoaib Malik of Pakistan and Kings captain Imad Wasim set a record while playing for Karachi Kings versus Peshawar Zalmi on Tuesday.
Imad-led Kings, who had won the toss, decided to field first. Zalmi scored an impressive 199 runs in their first innings, therefore the verdict was not entirely in the Karachi Kings’ favor.
Babar Azam scored 68 runs in 46 balls while leading Peshawar for the first time. These runs included seven boundaries and one six.
Tom-Kohler Cadmore, the game’s standout performance, hit 92 runs in a scorching 50 balls, including seven boundaries and six enormous sixes.
In retaliation, Kings got off to a shaky start as starter Sharjeel Khan was ejected for a golden duck. Jimmy Neesham later sacked Matthew Wade after his impressive start.
The game was initially quite in favor of Zalmi, but afterward felt pressured because of the Kings’ outstanding comeback.
A significant alliance between Captain Imad Wasim and Shoaib Malik helped the Kings turn the course of the game.
Imad Wasim struck 80 runs off 47 balls, including four enormous sixes and seven fours.
Shoaib Malik also contributed significantly, scoring 52 runs off 34 balls, including two enormous sixes and four boundaries.
Zalmi’s match was effectively gone when they needed nine runs off the final delivery.
The team of Imad Wasim and Shoaib Malik now holds the PSL record for the greatest fifth-wicket partnership.
